Goodbye Tatum

The Angel of the book of life wrote down my baby's birth, and whispered as she closed the book, "Too beautiful for earth..."

  1. I am in tears! Treasure the time you had with him! I love that, 'too beautiful for earth.' In the past years I have learned that God truely does know what's best! Even if we don't understand it at the time, or ever for that matter! We just have to trust Him. I'm sorry I didn't know about your situation sooner! I so wish I could've done somthing for you!

  7. I am sorry that it didnt turn out different. There was some reason he was sent to earth to you. You and all of your family have been a inspiration to us and our family. I know it wasn't the best place to meet you, but I am so glad we did. I wish we would have been able to help. Like it was said earlier that no words can make it better or go away, but treasure every moment you had with him. We love you and your family.

  11. What a great comfort the blessings of the temple bring to our lives, especially in situations like Tate's. Tatum will be waiting to greet your entire family when the day comes and just think of how wonderful that day will be! We love you guys and have you in our prayers every day.

"....May we, when the trials are our own, look up with “a perfect brightness of hope” (2 Ne. 31:20) in the Lord Jesus Christ and say, as did Paul:
    “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
“Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed” (2 Cor. 4:8).
Death and adversity come to us all, but so does life everlasting!..."

Hang in there and please call if there is anything we can do for you! We love you guys!!

We love you all so. Always know that your sweet boy will be with you, in your hearts, in your dreams, in your daily conversations. Tatum will be in your laughter and yes, your endless tears.
Songs, stories, beautiful sunsets- will make you cry in sorrow, peace, and joy all at once. You will cherish each touch, each smell, each moment and replay them in your mind. Time with all of your children will be forever priceless.
Your understanding of the gospel, eternal life, and hopes for the future will continue to grow richer. You will reach out to others in this life in a quiet understaning and sharing of loss and love and yes, the boundless joy that is all around you. You will reach out to unknown people with a simple hug- words will not be necessary.
You will visit beautiful holy places and cry tears of all kinds, and smile. Mother's Day will be bitter sweet and your sweet loved ones will rally around you. Your Savior and your son will make the hard times sweeter.
Talk about your sweet boy every day and to every one. It will help others to grow and be comfortable. It will teach your children about the gospel and prepare them for the challenges in life.
You will strive to be able to rise on the morining of the resurrection to be there to cradle your little one in your arms.
Thank you for all of the beautiful stories, pictures and moments of this time. We are better and stronger for being able to know this time with you, to pray, and fast, and weep, and learn. We love you!

  13. I thought of you,
    and closed my eyes,
    and prayed to God today
I asked ‘What makes a mother?”
and I know I heard him say
‘A mother has a baby’ this we know is true.
But God, can you be a mother, when your baby’s not with you?
‘Yes you can,’ he replied with confidence in his voice
‘I give many women babies. When they leave, is not there choice.’
‘Some I send for a lifetime, and others for the day, and some I send to fill your womb, but there’s no need to stay.’
I just don’t understand this God, I want my baby here.
He took a deep breath and cleared his throat,
and than I saw the tear.
‘I wish that I could show you, what your child is doing today. If you could see your child smile with all the other children and say…
We go to earth to learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My mommy loved me oh so much,
I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a mom,
Who had so much love for me.
I learned my lessons very quick,
    My mommy set me free.
I miss my mommy oh so much.
But I visit her every day.
    When she goes to sleep,
on her pillows where I lay,
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek,
    and whisper in her ear,
    mommy don’t be sad today
I’m your baby and I’m here.
‘So you see my dear sweet ones, your children are okay. Your babies are born here in my home,
and this is where there stay. And on the day that you come home, they’ll be at the gates for you.’
So now you see what makes a mother,
It’s the feeling in your heart.
It’s the love you had so much of,
    right from the very start.

I can't even begin to fathom the loss that you guys are feeling. It's hard to understand why our Heavenly Father would call a precious baby like Tatum back to heaven but we have to remember that he does have a bigger purpose for him. I broke down yesterday after a call from Grandma and I couldn't stop thinking about you guys and baby Tatum. All I could do is get down on my knees and pray.

  14. as tears flow I know that our Heavenly Father loves each of us. Even though we may not understand, our father does and I know he is in a better, happier place.

Tate, even though we didn't get to know you very well, you will be loved and missed.

Thanks for sharing Tate's life with us. Your family will continue to stay in our thoughts and prayer.

Your sweet precious little boy is so beautiful! How lucky you are to be entrusted with such an amazing little soul. What amazing parents you are that this little spirit chose you to raise him. My heart aches for you. You are so strong and brave. You will make it through this refining fire because you have so much to live for and so much will be waiting for you on the other side. Thankyou for sharing your sweet little angel with us. We love you!
